It's Great To Be Eight! It Really Is!!!

My oldest daughter turned eight years old on Friday! How is this possible? Am I even old enough to have an eight year old?

For Kelsi's special day we went to her usual fave; IHOP!

It's not a birthday without a party at our house, so I let Kelsi invite all 10 of her friends over for a pajama party that evening. It was pretty unstructured and chaotic but the girls had a blast! I had written on the invitation "pizza, games, pillow fights & more"....it just sounded good together. I was delighted to see every single girl come with a pillow and ready to fight with it! I think that is what they looked forward to most! Who would have thought?

At the end of the month, we will attend Kelsi's baptism. She is so ready and very excited to acheive her Faith In God goals. I adore this girl!

I am not the best at keeping up on my photos so I really wanted some nice baptism pictures at the temple. What a treasure these will be when I have pictures of all four of my beautiful girls in their first white dress.

Kelsi is such a sweet, sweet spirit and keeps such a feeling of peace in our home. She gets along with everyone she meets and amazes me everyday. I know she was saved for this special time and I feel so blessed to be her mom.

Kelsi's favorite things right now are: Swimming, Playing w/ friends, Webkinz, Good Luck Charlie, Lemonade Mouth and chapter books. She loves her dolls and keeps everything in a safe spot {away from her sisters}. She likes to dress comfy and wear her hair in the quickest possible style. She does not like her hair curled. She does not like Matta's {unfortunately!} Kelsi loves dessert!!!

From Snow to Summer in 3 months!

{I wrote this post after Spring Break and finally got around to finishing it} Like the old saying goes, "A day late and a dollar short! " We are counting down the days to summer like it's Christmas! It won't come soon enough!} So here is a little flashback to March:

The countdown to summa has begun! 8 weeks to go....Spring Break has left us behind and the weather was perfect. We stayed at home but tried to fill everyday with something fun to do. Unfortunately, the man of the house {happy birthday tomorrow babe!} was busy working so it was mostly me and the girls. I overheard many funny conversations between them and decided I better write them down. They had no idea of my spying ears! When Spring Break ended, I read my list to them and their faces were priceless. Love me MY GIRLS!

MONDAY

For FHE Kelsi and Kaitlyn both want to give the lesson and Kaitlyn comes up with this solution:

"That's Okay! We'll just combine lessons and make it HUGE!" (Every parents nightmar...I mean, dream)

TUESDAY

*The first time Kaitlyn slides down our brand new slipnslide: "I'm never doing the slipnslide again!!"

Kennedy: "But whyyyeee"

Kaitlyn: "Because I got a scrape!!"

Kennedy" "Buy why are you so maaaad????" (In her sweetest little voice)

WEDNESDAY

The night before St. Patricks Day, Kaitlyn won't sleep and keeps getting out of bed.

She says, "I keep hearing this drip, drip, dripping but nothing is there. Maybe it's a leprechaun!"

THURSDAY

Kelsi: "Mom! Kaitlyn keeps teasing us with a needle like she's gonna poke us!"

Me: " A real one?"

Kelsi: "Yes, and she's already stabbed Kennedy with it!"

Me: " Kaitlyn, what are you doing with a needle?"

Kaitlyn: " I was looking for scissors and got distracted by the needle"

FRIDAY

We were talking about what we would do if someone said something mean to them.

Kaitlyn: " I'd tell them I would never be their friend again!"

Kelsi: "But Kaitlyn, friendship is forever."

Arizona Snow

We are freezing over here! I can honestly say that I'm ready for my Arizona summer....the routine of swimming, swimming and more swimming.

We had a free day a few weeks ago during Christmas break and decided to take the girls to the snow. Little did we realize it was a day for blizzard conditions! We drove up to Payson and almost turned around as we watched people pull over and put chains on their tires. Chains? What are those? :)

What a treat for us! I can't remember a time when I've seen so much snow. The picture of the girls was taken right in front of the Denny's on the main road. We ate breakfast and watched the snow fall. The restaurant was almost completely empty....who's crazy enough to go outside in these conditions? Apparently, we were!
The other pictures were taken in a church parking lot. You would've never known....everything was covered. We could have been playing in a snow covered field for all we knew. It was delicious! Definitely worth the trip and one we will make again next year; as soon as my need for the warm sun, swimsuits and water is fulfilled :)

New Blog....New Resolution...
